Jordanian artist Mohammad Obaid is based between Washington DC and his hometown, Amman. After studying graphic design and exploring various forms of artistic expression such as calligraphy and street art, he progressively moved towards specializing in layered paper art.
Influenced by his Syrian ancestry, Mohammad draws his inspiration from the natural and urban landscapes of the Levant and the geometry and rythm of the Islamic art. He likes to blend these patterns and influences in order to create unique and modern pieces, which are a tribute to both the heritage and the vibrant youth of the Middle East, but also reflect
his own experience living at the crossroads of continents and cultures.
His work was first exhibited in Amman, Jordan, in 2021.
His most recent work has been exhibited for the first time in the United States in December 2022 in Washington DC.
